"Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh and anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." A time of peace

Tuesday night, December 29, 2009 our Father fulfilled his chapter of mortality. At 5:20 pm he peacefully passed away in his bedroom surrounded by his family. What a special time this is for us. We know he is in a better world and we have faith to join him there soon. We love and miss him.

More details to come regarding his memorial services, but for now a tribute. To my Father, my Dad, my Hero. I Love you.

My favorite quote from Kahlil Gibran

You would know the secret of death. But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life. The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of the light. If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life. For life and death are one even as the river and sea are one.

In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;and like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring. Trust the dreams for in them is hidden the gate of eternity. your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepard when he stands before the King whose hand is to be laid upon him in honor. Is the shepard not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the King? Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from it's restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered.

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountaintop, then shall you begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

We love you

I am so sorry to hear of your father's death. I'm happy though that he got to enjoy one last Christmas with his entire family. He is now happy and out of pain and will watch over all of you. Thank goodness that we know the plan of salvation. May he rest in peace.

Dearest Losers,

Words cannot express our feelings this morning upon learning of Rick's passing. Although we knew this time was coming, the reality of the loss is nonetheless devastating. Jill and I held each other tight and wept. We can't fully imagine what you must be going through. We know however, as do you, that a kind and loving Father in Heaven knows exactly, and as we turn to Him, He understands and, through the infinite compassion of the Savior, is there to comfort.

Since the beginning of Rick's illness, I have often marveled at your faith, hope, courage, understanding and acceptance and through witnessing it all, I have known that no matter how difficult, you were prepared for what was ahead.

It has been a privilege to know Rick for nearly 30 years; we have loved deeply, laughed often and learned much from one of the "Great and Noble Ones", a dear friend, a brother in the Gospel, a great example of kindness, devotion, courage and compassion, and an inspiration to us all!. Although not perfect in practice, perfect in principle and for me he shall always be an example of everything good and worthy of emulation. I thank him for the influence he has had in my life. We shall miss him deeply.

Losers, may the blessings of Heaven rest upon you, time passes quickly; it shall not be long until you (all of us) are reunited forever.

Hugs and Kisses,

Tracy & Jill

What a great man, a great example of a father, husband, leader, and friend. Our first memories of coming to this neighborhood we now call home were of being befriended by this wise, gentle man. We have missed you since you left and like so many you have touched, will miss you now, but we cherish the memories we have. All our love and prayers...

Moroni 7:37 Behold I say unto you, Nay;for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men;

Bro Lo was diagnosed with cancer on October 17th 2008 doctors said he would live only 2-4 months. He passed on December 29th 2009. That is no minor miracle. By our prayers and fasting and our faith he made it 14 months.

I believe he was my ministering angel. He taught me how life should be lived. He might not be with us but his legacy lives on in all that were fortunate enough to meet this servant of God. I know he is home now.

My prayers and love are with the Loser family. Thanks for your familys example to me. I love you all.

Dear Loser Family,
This is Brianne Redding Call (Larry and Rhonda's Daughter)
The Video was beautiful that you put together of the amazing life that Bro. Loser led. He was a truly amazing man. I have only met Bro. Loser a few times but he was always full of life and love and the light of Christ. I've read the blog many times and have heard so many wonderful stories of my parents visiting with you. I love that he was always laughing about his circumstances and lived his life to the fullest. I always asked my parents about him frequently and I'm grateful for the friendship you have with them. I pray for all of you at this time of his passing. I'm sure you have many angels surrounding you!!

Dear Loser family. We love you all. What a priviledge it is to know the Loser and Dickison families and to share your love from so many angles. We so love Rick and know your hearts are hurting and yet calm with the healing balm of the Savior. Rick is now free to help Him on a grander scale than he did here. That is hard to imagine knowing the great work Rick so selflessly did here on earth. We are so grateful to have the friendships of the last 28 years. We came by to visit tonight but missed you. Much Love, Bob and Val

This is from Tyler's letter, and expresses how we all feel:
"Brother Loser was the epitomy of stone solid. Never did i see him without a warm welcome, and a genuine question about myself or family. In short, I always felt the love he had for me. I will always remember the amazing man he is, never did i see or feel fear in Brother Loser. Whether it was coming home with Cameron from Betos at 3 in the morning, or the tragic news of his illness, Brother Loser always faced it, and dealt with it magnificently. He is an example to us all of loving life, even with its hardships. Dad, we were very lucky to get to know him the way we did. Let his family know how much i love them, tell them to pass to Cam in Mexico that i love him. I will always remember Bro Loser as the stone solid man that would answer any call, and could deal with any problem. I know now that he is at rest, and although it is hard for us, we can take solace in the fact that we know he is home."

What a great tribute to a man i never knew. I knew Michele from work and she would talk of her family and husband. I could tell she loved them all. When i left work and heard of her husbands cancer, I was inspired to read his blog everyday, even though they did not post every day. I sit here with tears as I have prayed for their family every night to watch over and comfort each other at this time. I think we all

Dear Loser Family

When we think of Rick we think of this scripture, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
2 Timothy 4:7
May Our Heavenly Father encircle you in His arms at this time and may you feel peace. Know that our love and prayers are with you.

To the Loser family, I hope that you remember me, David Andreasen. My son Brian called tonight and asked if I remember Richard Loser. I said yes, where is he. He then sent me to this blog. I wished I had been able to find and keep in touch with all of you. What a great man and friend Rick was to me and my family. I know that you only spent a short time in Grace,Id. but that time had a great impact on me. What a great tribute that was. As tears stream down my face I couldn't help but remember all the times that Rick blessed my life. I am so truly greatful for the time that I was able to spend with your family and watch as they all grew. May the Lord bless each of you at this time of loss. Pray always. With all my love, David Andreasen
