"Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh and anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." Ether 12:4

Happy Picture of the Week

Adam here. Rachel is the blog mastermind and so we spruced it up a little last night, I hope you all like it. We will continue to add more information along the way. I thought it would be fun to add a happy picture of the week. Something light and funny since you all know my dad is anything but boring and loves to tease. What a handsome couple. Maybe I can convince Rachel that facial hair is attractive, it certainly won my mom over.

Nice picture looks like the grandson knows who to cheer for. Rick I have been thinking about the times at Ricks College. The year we went to Ricks, I thought I had moved to Siberia. It was cold and snowed it seems like 2 feet. I remember one day the snow was extra deep, 10 of us( rick I think you we one) climbed out on the balconey of the second floor at rigby hall. It was illegal to climb out there and if you were caught it was a fifty dollar fine. A hugh fine those days for some broke college students. Anyway we climbed out on the ledge and someone gave the signal we all did a back flip at the same time into the snow bank below. I think someone took pictures. Maybe the evidence had to be destroyed. Do you also remember the old studebaker? We had many ski trips in the old studebaker. It was a small car with a mighty V-8. We didn't care about gas prices back then. We just needed power! We went to the twin falls temple yesterday and put your name on the prayer roll. We are praying for you and your family. Burke

I know I'm a stranger to your family, but I am just overcome with tears as I came to this blog. Tears of joy and also of sadness. I'm also so incredibly impressed by the faith expressed here--faith that allows even such sad news, although painful, to also be sweet. My heart goes out to your entire family.

I'd just like to give a brief introduction of Clean Cut. He is a friend of mine and I consider him one of my favorite missionary companions. Thanks, Clean Cut, for your visit and kind words.

In talking to Rick at the hospital this morning, and then writing to Steve Hoskin this afternoon, I am so amazed at how many people surrounding Rick are feeling promptings from the Spirit. Steve also wrote in his email to me that he is praying for a miracle. As I look around I can see that the miracles are already happening.

Rick, we hope you’re beginning to feel some better after this last go round with the docs. Doesn’t sound like any fun for sure. However as I remember it from my first days of tracting with you out in the bitter cold of January 1977 in Kentucky you had a fair bit of doggedness and determination like very few I have known before or since. That same determination has served you well and that experience taught me a valuable lesson, and that was, if I was going to keep up with you I needed a warmer coat.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Michelle and your great family. Talk with you soon. Thayne & Denise

It's 12:45 in the morning and I'm having a hard time sleeping. I enjoyed our visit. Thanks for indulging me visiting with you earlier today. Something you said has really resonated with me and has kept me pondering. I hope to discuss it further. I'll be sure to bring a guitar this time. lol.

I have also gone through some journal entries from your years as Bishop. That was turning point in my life and I thank you for being there to keep me in line.

Anyway, I hope things are more comfortable now for you at home. I assume you're home. We will talk soon, my friend.
