"Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh and anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." The Wonderful World of Narcotics

Well, after spending a few hours at the hosptial yesterday, dad came home feeling much better. We started a hospice program and right now dad has a "permapump" of a narcotic painkiller in an arm IV that he carries around like a purse. Oh sorry, like a manly man bag. He's feeling a lot better overall and eating much better, too.

In fact, we had some visitors last night that got to witness dad's initial high dosage of pain and other meds - he was falling asleep in the middle of sentences, making some really funny faces, and he told some pretty interesting stories about, well, things that you wouldn't talk about in front of children. You'll have to ask Sherri Scoresby what he said. :)

Dad feels good about having some visitors today. Due to his level of pain medication and the fact that he can't stay awake longer than 15 minutes, we ask that if you'd like to come, you limit your visit to 20-30 minutes. The Loser Hospital visiting hours will be 2-6 pm today, Sunday Oct 26th.

If you have any questions, please let us know anytime! Again, we are so grateful for our little cult following of love and support.

Our love,
The Losers

Ok Ok, now we have to come over. Can't wait to hear what you have to say when prudence isn't holding you back... Should be great fun!!! Not to mention, I have to see the "purse" - oh right THE "manly man bag". We have church until 4 so I hope you are not worn out by then. An entourage of well wishers can wear out even tough guys like you! At least, we will stop and see Michelle for a sec. I have something for you.
Later, Tracy & Jill

ummmmm. Nichole. I'm not so sure it's a great idea to advertise that you have narcotics at your house. ;)

hahaha @ the Woods comment. How are you guys?

Rick, I hope your "manly man bag" matches your shoes and that it's not white because it is after Labor Day.

I think I've stolen too much of your time when you were up in Salt Lake so I'll ease up and not be so stalker-ish and let all of the other "cult members" visit too. Unless of course you really need someone to party with. I'd be thrilled to see what you'd do now with leopard skin clothing...haha.

Well, if there is anything that I can do for "you fine folks" you know my door (and apparently my mouth) is always open.

Love you all.

Your Tongan brother in the land northward.

Your dedication and determination is evidenced by the admirable way you and your family are handling yet another life challenge. We want to express our love and admiration for your dedication to living exemplary lives.

The apples and apple sauce are from our trees. We are hoping Rick can enjoy the apple sauce.

Had a wonderful time visiting with you today. It brought back many wonderful cherished memories. It reminded me how much I appreciate the friendship Barb and I have shared with you and Michelle over the last twenty-eight years. The little group of friends that started familes together in the
35th ward have come a long way. Thanks for being part of the journey.

XOXOXO

Wish we could have been there to see you all! I would love to see Rick's "purse". Glad to hear that the Cougars won last night. It makes all the attempted watching worth while.
Love ya,

Hi, Richard. We love you. So glad to hear about the Hospice.

We thought you might enjoy knowing that today, during a visit from our new home teachers (John and Nick Romney), Archer and Merrit were all over the place, as usual--Merrit a jumping cannonball, Archer a squealing wiggler. They have not yet tried wrestling with John. But we know it's coming.

For Halloween, Merrit is being a bat. We have a black cat costume, and I made simple wings from black and silver fabric that we pinned onto the cat costume sleeves, and voila--now he's a bat. He has been flying around for days. In his primary class today, they had to pretend to be animals. He was flapping around. Someone guessed "butterfly." Someone guessed "bird." So he said (with some bossy indignation, we imagine): "Mammal!" And his teacher finally guessed right: BAT.

Archer will be a vampire. We are painting his hair black. He keeps talking about his "Vangs."

Rick and Michelle,
We are looking forward to a few minutes to visit but we want to give you adequate time to continue healing and enjoy your family. We'll watch the blog and see what will be a good time this week! We are looking forward to seeing you and more thoroughly expressing our love!
We love the fabulous sign in front of your house. One of the primary children said to me today, "Guess what! Bro Lo is Home!!) It was so cute!
Our fervent fasting and prayers have been offered up for your family all day!
All Our Love,
Brett & Sandy
